Volleyball: Pass And Cross Centre Line

DESCRIPTION

Two players stand on attack lines at either side of the net, while a third player stands between them at the net.

One of the players at the attack line passes the ball and then receives it back from the player in the middle, who now crosses the centre line, ducking under the net, before doing the same with the other player.

Better Setters - Backwards Passing

Create better setters that can pass the ball effectively and accurately wherever they receive the ball on the court.

OFTEN USED WITH...

Pass, Jump And Set:

Players work in pairs with a ball between them, starting in a squat position. They pass the ball high, jump, and set it to their teammate who repeats this.

2 Warm Up

Pass Short And Long:

Players work in threes with one player in the middle.

A player from the outside sets to the middle player before receiving the ball back. The middle player now turns 180 degrees and the player with the ball passes to the players at the other side of the court.

Players on the outside set the ball once to the middle and then to the other side.

10 Setting Drills

4 Player Passing Rotation:

Working in 4's with the final player throwing the ball back to the feeder under the net.

Once the drill starts the setter passes the ball to a target player at the net.

The net player then sets the ball for the wide player who receives it and then returns the ball ready for the drill to start again.

This drill can be measured in time or good repetitions.

4 Passing Drills

Pass Short And Long Progression:

Players work in threes with one player in the middle. A player from the outside sets to the middle player who sets the ball backwards to the player on the other line.
