A Channel is set up in the outer 1/4 or 1/3 of the field of play. The basic aim of the drill is for the defender to prevent the attacker dribbling the ball into the D.
Foot / Body Positioning - Chest to Chest, Feet: Either facing the same direction as the attckers feet or creating a angle to the corner. Head Up Stick - Jab to one side of the ball to encourage the attacker to move in the other direction. Drive them to the sideline using jabs and when the attacker trys to come inside step with a flat stick. Attacking - This drill is not based on attacking, however the key points are: Pace, Attack at pace, any changes of pace should be sharp increases. Try 3D skills Always moving towards the target (end of the channel)
