Jess Coach, Scotland

DESCRIPTION

Fun way to practice aerial passing technique with younger players. Players can work alone or in pairs (taking turn or "hole" about). Every hole starts at the centre of the goal at one end of the pitch. And each goal should be marked with a number and a par (based on average ability). Cones, hoops, tyres, buckets etc can also be used rather than extra goals. Cones can also be used to create bunkers (white cones in diagram) which add an extra shot to the total of that hole for the player. Each player should keep note of their scores and at the end the player that took the least shots wins!

COACHING POINTS

Emphasis on technique over power for getting better aerial passes. Any shot that does not go a good/safe aerial height then the coach can add a shot to their total as a penalty or send them back to re-take.
