Start the players off with a simple push pass to one another. distance can be increased by one step each time 5 successful passes are made. Then get one of the players to use their legs as a target, the ball must be passed through the legs for the target player to then spin and retrieve. This will help develop a sense of how far to push the ball. Finally get the players to niggle between two lines eash with the aim of getting the ball over their line to win a point. No hitting of the ball or full tacticaling!
Teach the basic push pass and niggle techniques to the players and get them to practise them in this controlled environment. Ensure players are practising the techniques correctly as at an early learning stage each incorrectly practised technique will remain with the player for longer.
