This is a drill for younger players to get them ready for playing matches. Two teams of 4 face off against each other in channels. Players are effectively playing 1 vs 1 but are in a team of 4. Players cant leave their channel and have to try and beat the opposite man. If tagged they have to pass to a team mate in another channel. I fthey beat their man though they can score the try.
Players should be encouraged to use fast feet to beat their man but if tagged they should look to pass. Team mates should support the ball carrier and be ready for a pass. The pass should be backwards and pass should be delivered correctly to catcher and catcher should have hands ready for the ball. Defenders should be encouraged to tag firmly holding the tag in the air and shouting "TAG!" before handing the tag back.
