In a netball game you are given 50% of the possession, as you get every other centre pass, therefore maintaining this possession is crucial to ensure you can get the ball to goal. This session works on your players attacking capabilities to achieve this.
The session begins with a warm-up game focused around possession - a fundamental, yet crucial skill within netball. This gets your players really thinking about what is the best pass to give to remain in control of the ball. The session then goes on to develop your players movement, providing 3 different scenarios to practice from. ?Possession Ball? provides an opportunity for your players to put their movement skills into practice, whilst carrying the theme of maintain possession throughout the session. However, as we all know often we do not only have to get past one defender, therefore the session progresses, focusing on how to conquer two defenders! You can then place these skills on court in specific court areas, for example, work towards and around the circle edge. The session concludes with a game of netball, but with certain conditions placed upon the game to get your players implementing what they have learnt.
