High Ball Low Ball 4 Passing D...

Two players have different tasks while underhand passing. One passes the ball as high as possible, the other passes it as parallel to the court as possible.

Digging Game MVT:FOREARM PASS ...

Start the game with equal or as near as possible teams. Serve an easy underarm serve to start the game then using only digs try and score points against the opposition. One player plays the ball then goes off court to the back and queues until their turn again. Play the game to set number of points. Players must go for the ball, it's about effort, control and tactics.

Quick Passes 4 Passing Drills ...

Players stand in pairs across the court from each other. One player has two balls and starts by throwing one ball in the air for the other player to pass back. While this ball is in the air having been passed back, the player throws the other ball to be passed back.

Run and Pass 4 Passing Drills ...

Set up four cones in a square in one half of the court, with a player and a ball on each. The remainder of your players should line up a couple of meters behind the back line.On the coach's whistle players take it in turns to run out each cone in turn where they play a pass and return before running to the next station to play another pass and return.

Pass Short And Long 10 Setting...

Players work in threes with one player in the middle. A player from the outside sets to the middle player before receiving the ball back. The middle player now turns 180 degrees and the player with the ball passes to the players at the other side of the court. Players on the outside set the ball once to the middle and then to the other side.

Each player has a ball. The aim is to keep underhand passing high over their own head for as long as possible, all the while keeping in control of the ball.

Setting - 2 vs 2 4 Passing Dri...

The first player starts the game with a throw over the net. The two players on the other side of the net communicate - with one moving towards the net and the other who volleys the ball. The player that has moved to the net faces their partner who passes the ball to them with a high pass from a volley position with the ball above their forehead. The person at the net volleys the ball for their partner who is about 2 metres away from the net facing them with the hand up nearest the net pointing where they want the next high pass to be placed. The player then passes the ball high to the area pointed at and that player moves in, and volleys the ball over the net. Then both players return to a side by side playing position ready to play defence and start the drill again.

Players stand in pairs with a ball between them and are required to receive the ball from high up, let it bounce, and then underhand the pass to the player opposite them who does the same.

Players work in pairs with two balls between them. One ball starts on the floor with a player while the other ball is in the hands of the players opposite. The ball is overhand passes at the same time that the other ball is pushed by the leg of the opposite players.

One player passes an inaccurate long pass behind teammate whose task is to move back and set up balanced position prior to setting the ball back.

Passing and Movement 4 Passing...

Two players stand at the baseline at 1 and one player stands at the baseline at 5, a feeder feeds the ball alternating to 1 and 5 the players run from 1 to 5, side step the last two steps and pass to a target directly in front of them. Then a player runs from five to one and does the same if you have run from 5-1 then you go to the baseline at 1 and visa-versa. This drill continues for set time or number of good contacts. This drill can be fast, slow or whatever the feeder makes it, you can underhand feed or feed with a topspin hit. You can do this with two feeders feeding at the same time, however this can cause confusion but that’'s ok. Players need to be able to sort it out or give them some help and guidance by asking appropriate questions i.e. what do you do if?

Shuffle Passing 4 Passing Dril...

The coach loops the ball into the air, slightly to the left or the right of the blue cone, and the first player runs out and bumps the ball back into the coach's hands.The player then continues in the direction they were moving and touch the red cone. They then shuffle back towards the middle where they receive their second feed from the coach which they bump pass back.Finally the player shuffles across the other wide cone, touch it and then return to the middle to play the third and final bump pass.

Players start this drill on the sidelines. The feeder overhand passes accurately and inaccurately to the worker. The worker is required to underhand pass the ball directly back to the feeder - regardless of how fast or slow they have to approach the pass!

Players work in pairs and have a ball each. They overhand pass the ball high at the same time and then spike the ball off the floor to each other.

Players get into groups of 5 or more and form a circle, initially working with one ball per group.The aim of this drill is for players to pass the ball around the circle using bump passes, trying to reach 20 passes without dropping the ball.

Volley the ball to your partner who digs the ball to themselves then volleys the ball back and you do the same for a set time or number of good contacts.

Working in 4's with the final player throwing the ball back to the feeder under the net. Once the drill starts the setter passes the ball to a target player at the net. The net player then sets the ball for the wide player who receives it and then returns the ball ready for the drill to start again. This drill can be measured in time or good repetitions.

1) In pairs the players have one ball betwen them. 2) Standing on opposite sides of the court player 1 throws the ball as if spiking/serving to their partner who catches it. 3) Player 1 then has to lay down on their back as quickly as possible and get bback onto their feet. 4) Player 2 then repeats steps 2 and 3. 5) The players then repeat the steps for a limited time.

Players work in pairs with two balls between them. One player underhand throws the ball upwards, while the other spikes the ball towards their teammate who has to dig the ball back before catching the ball that they threw in the air.

In threes, the players stand in a row, the person in the middle faces player 1. Player 1 then underhand passes the player in the middle, who return the ball back to player 1. The player in the middle then spins around to receive the ball from player 2, whereby he returns it using the underhand pass.

1) In pairs the players stand diagonally across from each other on either side of the net. 2) Player 1 then serves crosscourt at the same time as player 2 (the balls should cross in the air). 3) Each player catches the ball and repeats step 2.

Working in pairs the feeder spikes the ball to the worker. The worker has to dig it back to the feeder, and prepare to receive the next shot. Repeat for 10 spikes and then rotate.

Players dig the ball, set up their position and then underhand pass sideways to their partner. Before the second underhand pass is possible players must rotate their torso and then rotate again while passing.

Volleyball movement for seventh grade

I can't seem to get them to talk our pass the ball to the setter it goes everywhere. They don't understand how to move with the ball. I have four passing. I tell them to stay low watch the ball into there arms and call it. Please help we have won 5 games and lost 7 they are very talented. I want them to move forward.
