DESCRIPTION

White player 1 throws the ball to the thrower (blue 1) who passes the ball back to 1 as the player runs into a space. 1 lands and passes the ball to the first player on the opposite line (white 4). The exercise continues in this manner.

COACHING POINTS

  • Feed can be hard, soft, high, low and receiver must run onto the ball.

    Shuttles | Group practices

    Shuttles:

    4 players or more. 1 ball.
    Blue 1 drives forward to receive the ball from White 1.

    Blue 1 lands, turns and feeds to Blue 2, before returning to the back of the blue line.

    Blue 2 feeds to White 1 driving on to the ball.

    Quick Passing | Passing

    Quick Passing:

  • Split the group into 8s.

    • 2 Balls starting with Player 1 and Player 4. The players then pass the balls diagnoally until the ball reaches an end. They then pass the ball straight to the person opposite them and continue the practice.

    Cross overs | Group practices

    Cross overs:

    Minimum group of 6 - 2 balls.

    Players 2 have a ball each and pass to players 1, and then cross over to receive, return; cross over to receive, return; cross over to receive, return.
    Players 1 then toss the ball in the air for players 2 to catch and then become feeders to the number 3 who are now working. Numbers 1 join the back of the lines.

    Reactions:

  • 4 players, 2 balls.

    • The Player in the middle has to, on reciept of the ball, pass the ball onto a player that does not have a ball. This can not be to the player that just passed them the ball.
