In this session we aim to get the ball from defence to offence as quickly as possible - working the ball from defence through the court linking up with the mid-court and attacking players.
How do we do this?
We start by looking at players' starting positions from a dead ball situation and try to assess if they have good spatial awareness. Ideally your players should be aware of their team-mate's positioning and should position themselves accordingly to be in an open position, ready to receive and work the ball through the court.
In addition to this this session also practises specific patterns of play from dead ball situations in the defensive third you can help your team to pass the ball through each section of the court more efficiently. By getting the ball from A to B more quickly your players will have a greater chance of linking the defence to the offence with slick and speedy passing!
