Essentially a 4v 2 situation 3 Attackers start in the D 2 Defenders mark the two attackers posting up. Leaving one high attacker in the D This player can be managed by the goalkeeper Right side player carries the ball forward 5 yards and makes an inside pass to CM The CM connects with one of the 2 posting up players and can join the attack but cannot enter the D This exercise could be further progeressed with the starting player joining in as a defender (LTG) Once the defender wins the ball they have to try and make a pass to the player that first started the drill. Progression More Attacker and/or Defenders We could also run this from the right hand side or the left hand side. The Ball would start in the centre and be played out wide.
Forward First -Feet, Face and Final 3rd Think about leads and how we can receive the ball. What are our options? What is success in the D? Defenders what do we want from you? What is success? Can we make the D as big as possible- always having a high player.
