Defence is forcing attacker high and wide, then getting attacker on back so that they can't cut through to the central channel. On third second a second attacker is going to take the straight line drive. At what point can the defender switch from the attacker she is marking and make an attempt to intercept the straight line ball? PROGRESSION Add in a defender on the second attacker. If Defender 1 does swap, then Defender must pick up her Attacker. Look at defence starting with attackers on same side and on opposite sides (Through Court Defence 2)
Key will be the defender working hard! First job is to send the attacker high and wide, then get them on back, and only if and when she is assured that the attacker is clearing away, can she make attempt to switch and intercept. If she goes too early, then her attacker can cut through and get the ball and send forward unmarked
