Community | Role of Attacker

Nick Walsh Coach, Australia

DESCRIPTION

The attackers role is to start in position 2 and attack the ball. The player then transitions back to position 3 to attack the ball from there then transitions back to position 4 and attack. The player may call whatever desired attack they want in the positions. Once completed all three attacks the attacker cycles under the net and becomes the blocker in position 2. Coach must be aware that the attacker is transitioning fast enough each time. Coaching cues that are important include: Quick steps, drive up, look for seams, high contact, follow through, land knees bent, transition out.
