L/O to be able to close down space, deny space and apply pressure, using stage 1 defense. 2V1 In the circle The 2 defenders inside the circle must ensure one of them is always marking the attacker inside the circle While one player marks the defender, the other should be covering the space and looking to make the interception The defender at the back co-ordinates the movement of the second defender who is at the front, this is known as having "eyes at the back". Loud, clear and well timed direction from the "eyes at the back" Small foot base with knees flexed, keep head still and eyes up Angle your body so the shooter is forced to move in a certain direction, ready for you to make the interception
