DESCRIPTION

Divide the court into 3 equal areas with a line across the length of the court. (6m x 9m) 8 players per small court.

For every team, the following rule applies, after the ball is thrown the team rotates clockwise one turn.

COACHING POINTS

Throw the ball across the net first time using either:

An under arm throw with straight arms, a one arm overhead throw or a one straight arm underarm throw.

These are all typical volleyball throws related to the real actions.

5 Drills

Rally Drill 2:

Divide the court into 3 equal areas with a line across the length of the court. (6m x 9m) 8 player per small court

Start the game with an underarm serve, and the opposition has to catch the ball and throw it back first time with one of the typical volleyball throws.

The player who drops, throws the ball out side the court or in to the net has to leave the court. If the team catches the ball 3 times in a row, one of the players on the side can join back in. A point is scored when the opposition has no players left.

5 Drills

Three Ball Game - Keep it up!:

3 balls in play, teams of 4 in each half of the court.

Each court has 1 ball which they must pass around constantly, with all players participating.

At the same time, each team attempts to pass another ball back and forth between the teams, with the aim of getting the ball to land on the opposition's side of the court.

9 Conditioned games
