Building on previous set-upIn groups of 5: Feeder, 2 x Attackers Defenders x 2 Feeder throws ball to self to set timing Attacker holds off her defender then drives drives in to receive a straightline ball They need to turn in air and sight the uncontested space of the next attacker. This player can EITHER be holding off her defender to drive into a space (reacting to the previous movement) OR they can choose to HOLD their space to receive a pass. You may choose at 70% effort and build as attackers become more familar with the defence of space. Play this through in court relevant space and scenarios Progressions / Variations Start in limited space Start with defence initially working at 70% effort Build intensity Build through court.
Typically when in attack, players seek to "get rid" and "loose" their defence through change of pace, direction, dodges and rolls. The idea of finding their defence out of a space may be less familiar to them. Use of peripheral vision / body angle to hold defence off yet time the "release" into space is key.
