Taking Defending High and Wide onto Court. (C and WD): D2 focus on preventing front cut which would allow A2 to hit top of circle D2 angles body to encourage A2 to drive forward towards A1; receives ball and does quick return to A1 D2 steps up into space to prevent the front cut to top of circle (1) A2 will drive into nearside pocket, D2 gets her on her back and drives with her, keeping her off edge, potential for intercept (other sketch) (2) A2 runs flat, gets another 1-2 ball, now D2 can get her on back again as she drives into far side pocket, looking to keep her off edge and potentially intercept if the risky pass is played.
Stand up straight and tall, on balls of feet, feet under body, eyes up Keep off the body but angled to "encourage" the attacker forward Stepping off body again and taking the space to prevent the front cut drive Don't overrun or be tempted in for intercept on short, close ball - they've made no ground, so you've already been successful Attacker onto your back once you're forcing the long drive, angled to see ball and player If long ball isn't played, and they reset, defender resets!

A ready-to-run Halloween session for High 5 and junior netball. Real drills in spooky costume, with a warm-up, a technical block, a decision-making game and a finish.
Tight markers win when attackers run in straight lines. Teach your players to dodge, change pace and time their drive so they get free when the ball is ready.
When everyone chases the ball, nobody is free. Teach your team to spread out, offer two options and clear space so the ball moves cleanly down court.
