DESCRIPTION

Toe to Toe on line. Coach blows whistle to start drill Turn and run 3 small quick feet steps away and turn and run 3 small quick feet steps back Jump and Clap hands - ensuring they stay on their own side of the line ( Turn and run 5 small quick feet steps away and turn and run 5 small quick feet steps back Jump and clap hands Change places on the line ( quick feet running , not side step, skipping) Get back three feet from the line Hands up and stable position for 3 seconds Advance to blocking Advance to front defence

COACHING POINTS

Definite change of direction; Eyes and head up; Get your hips around; Be light on your toes. Make sure the players land on their own side of the line. Girls need to engage their core muscles to try and stop themselves from propelling into each other. Stable Postion: Feet hip/shoulder width apart. Bent knee, toes tracking over knees. Feet flat on ground. Advancement - if players are doing this well. Pick one side of the line to be the attacker and one to be defender At the end of the 3 second hands up, defending side block the attacker from making it to the next transverse line. Make sure each player gets 3 goes at each side.
