Feeder, 2 attacking players, 2 defending players and a ball in a limited space Building on previous drill to work as a defensive team, calling for a switch or staying man-on To start, defendng players try setting up on the same side of their attacking players to encourage high and wide. Closest attacker recieves that ball and defnding releases to get hands over at correct distance. As ball is lifted, the defending player behind can call for their teammate to drop off for the intercept (assuming they have angled thier attacking player to come high and wide on that side) If this is the case, they must be prepared to pick up the other attacker in a switch. Variations/progressions: Try defenders working on opposite side of attacking players (i.e. pushing the attackers in opposite direction (in this case, likely most effective to stay man-on) Try on court scenarios with this set up - sidelines, back lines, centre passes
Body angle to encourage that high and wide Angle when arms over so can see attacking player, ball and the destination feeder in peripheral vision. Back defender must have done her job first - angled and encouraged her attacking player up the court on that side - if they are going to call for that drop. Angled run as dropping back, but hips and feet in direction of travel. Looking to arrive then jump vertical for intercept and avoid the contact. Back defender getting ready to switch to pick up the front attacker as they go to move down the court.

A ready-to-run Halloween session for High 5 and junior netball. Real drills in spooky costume, with a warm-up, a technical block, a decision-making game and a finish.
Tight markers win when attackers run in straight lines. Teach your players to dodge, change pace and time their drive so they get free when the ball is ready.
When everyone chases the ball, nobody is free. Teach your team to spread out, offer two options and clear space so the ball moves cleanly down court.
