2 Balls, 4 or more players Setup 4 posts, players line up single file behind each post, lines facing each other. One side starts with the balls Players drive fwd to receive shoulder pass & pass back to thrower. Players call out Front or Back, then cross over to receive second pass from thrower in other line & pass it back to the thrower. Players move again calling out Front or Back to receive third pass from original thrower, then pass it back to thrower on opposite side. Players then join the back of original throwers line. Other end now drives forward repeating same exercise as above.
Passes should be delivered hard and on extension to the moving players, to ensure they have to drive strongly to receive. Encourage the moving players to communicate loudly and clearly, to ensure their partner can hear them and react. Players should share the responsibility of calling âfrontâ or âbackâ, so that each player has an opportunity to develop their ability to give clear direction to a teammate. Look for good timing from both the moving players. On the final drive and receive, players who are performing the basic movements with skill and confidence should focus on turning their bodies and heads in the air, to allow them to see their final passing target and deliver the pass quickly, before returning to the back of the line.
