The goal is to try and always get our shooters into the circle in this scenario WD has been chosen for Centre pass off. GA=24 has dropped back towards the circle with GS. WA=14 holds position to recieve the next pass. Centre now moves into the shooting third to help supoort team in case the shooters aren't free. And GK moves up to the third to support the GD.
Notice how all the players are spread out. The GD is holding position in the back half of the Centre third this will create room for the C and WD to move around, but GD is still close enough to recieve the pass if needed.

Tight markers win when attackers run in straight lines. Teach your players to dodge, change pace and time their drive so they get free when the ball is ready.
When everyone chases the ball, nobody is free. Teach your team to spread out, offer two options and clear space so the ball moves cleanly down court.
A shooter who can hold a strong position under the post is worth more than one who runs all over the circle. Here is how to coach body shape, a legal hold and a well-timed release, and how feeders make the most of it.
